From JR Nagano Station, take the Nagano Electric Railway (Nagano Line) to Suzaka Station (approximately 25 minutes). From Suzaka Station, take a local bus (bound for Yamada Onsen) for approximately 50 minutes, then get off at Yamada Onsen bus stop and walk approximately 1 minute. By taxi from Suzaka Station takes approximately 25 minutes.

Standard check-in is 15:00 and check-out is 11:00. These may differ depending on your plan.

Near the lodge you can enjoy Raijin Falls (a spectacular waterfall) and the seasonal scenery of Matsukawa Ravine. Within approximately 25–30 minutes by car are major Nagano attractions including Zenko-ji Temple, Togakushi Shrine, and the town of Obuse, making the lodge convenient as a base for sightseeing.

Children from elementary school age and up can stay. However, the "Special Western Room (with moon-viewing veranda)," "Yamakura," and "Fuji" room types are for ages 13 and up (adults only). Please inform us of your child's age when making a reservation.

From late November to early April, snow tires or chains are required. If you are driving, please be sure to prepare these.

All rooms face the Matsukawa Ravine and are built in a low-rise sukiya style with a spacious layout including a main room, side room, and inner room. Special rooms include options with moon-viewing verandas or hinoki cypress baths. The greatest charm is being able to enjoy the natural beauty of the ravine from your room as if it were right in your hand.

After check-in, a complimentary matcha and confectionery service is offered in the lounge overlooking the ravine. From the lounge you can also enjoy views of the ravine and the changing seasons.

Yes, a Meijin (Master) match in professional shogi was held at Fujii Lodge and became a topic of discussion. As a prestigious historic ryokan representing Shinshu, it is well-known in the shogi world.

We draw hot water from Yamada Onsen. We have an open-air bath with views over the ravine, a spacious indoor bath with large windows, and a shared bathhouse in the style of Momoyama-period architecture. The water is said to be beneficial for neuralgia, muscle pain, joint pain, poor circulation, and chronic digestive conditions.

It is Fujii Lodge's signature "ponpon nabe" (oil fondue) – mountain vegetables and seasonal ingredients fried in oil. Served as the main course of the kaiseki dinner using local ingredients, the staff member attending to your table will finish it right before you. Breakfast is freshly cooked rice with carefully selected Japanese dishes.

The menu changes daily using seasonal ingredients. Our kaiseki (multi-course Japanese dinner) features Shinshu mountain specialties, so you can enjoy your stay without repetition even on consecutive nights. For details, please contact us at the time of booking.
