How do I reach the inn? How do I get to the island?
From the sightseeing pier (the Kumano Bettei Nakanoshima boat waiting room), about 7 minutes' walk from JR Kii-Katsuura Station, take our private boat; the crossing takes about 3 minutes to the hotel entrance on the island. We also collect guests from JR Kii-Katsuura Station to the waiting room.

Check-in is 15:00 and check-out is 11:00 as standard. Times may differ depending on the plan, so please check when booking.

Is it convenient for the Kumano Kodo and the Kumano Sanzan shrines?
Nanki Katsuura is a convenient base for the World Heritage Kumano Kodo and the three Kumano shrines (Kumano Hongu Taisha, Kumano Hayatama Taisha and Kumano Nachi Taisha). Nachi Falls is also easy to reach.

There are two wings, Shiokikitei and Nagi-no-Sho, with a wide range of rooms including Japanese, Japanese-Western and corner suites. Nagi-no-Sho is a luxurious wing of only 10 rooms.

A private open-air bath is available (paid). Please see the official website or ask the front desk for charges and booking.
What is the open-air bath Kishu Shiokiki-no-Yu like?
It is the celebrated open-air bath of Nanki Katsuura Onsen, named by the Naoki Prize-winning writer Giichi Fujimoto. You bathe with a superb view of the sea to the sound of the waves, watching the water shift between emerald green and deep blue. It alternates between men and women.

There is a foot bath, Sorami-no-Yu, where you can relax easily while taking in the view.

What is the food like?
You can enjoy kaiseki cuisine centred on the seafood of Katsuura, the town of bluefin tuna. Kumano Kenran Kappo Hakuryu also serves kappo set menus using carefully chosen Kumano ingredients.

There is no parking on the island. If you come by car, please use a car park in Nachikatsuura Town and board the boat at the sightseeing pier. Contact the front desk for details about parking.

About 3 minutes on our private boat from the sightseeing pier, about 7 minutes' walk from JR Kii-Katsuura Station. About 80 minutes from Susami-Minami IC on the Kisei Expressway.
