Buses for Mother Farm run from Sanukimachi Station and Kimitsu Station on the JR Uchibo Line. From Tokyo Station, the limited express or rapid services on the Uchibo Line are the smoothest route. Bus times vary by season and day of the week, so we recommend checking the timetable on the official website in advance.

The Tokyo Bay Ferry runs from Kurihama Port in Yokosuka City, Kanagawa Prefecture, to Kanaya Port in Futtsu City, Chiba Prefecture, in about 40 minutes. The fare is 720 yen for adults (vehicles charged separately). From Kanaya Port to Mother Farm is about 20-30 minutes by car.

About 13 km from Futtsu-Takeoka IC on the Tateyama Expressway, or about 11 km from Futtsu-Chuo IC (recommended for coaches). From the Kamogawa direction it is about 9 km from the Boso Skyline exit. Some roads have restrictions for large vehicles, so please check the road map on the official website.

The classic choice is jingisukan, barbecued lamb, using fresh meat direct from the farm. Soft-serve ice cream made with Jersey cow milk is also popular. Home-made sausages and dairy products are on sale too.

There is the Mother 2 Years Pass, valid for two years. It allows unlimited entry for two years from the date of purchase, along with benefits such as unlimited use of the shuttle bus around the site. Renewing it gives you a Gold Card with further benefits such as free parking.

Pets may enter, dogs only, at 700 yen per dog. Some areas where you touch the animals directly and certain other facilities do not allow pets. The sheepdogs also run freely around the site during shows and work, so please take care to avoid trouble with other animals.

It is a spectacular event in which sheepdogs drive a flock of about 150 sheep. Watching the sheep move across the wide pasture all at once is a powerful sight. It is held every day; times are given on the official website and in the information on the day.

Adults 1,800 yen and children 900 yen. Children aged 3 and under enter free. An accompanying dog is 700 yen. There is also the Mother 2 Years Pass, a two-year unlimited pass. Some attractions carry a separate charge.

There is an amusement area called Waku Waku Land with a good range of attractions including a Ferris wheel. Most are family rides that small children can enjoy. Attractions carry a separate charge.

There is something all year round: fields of rape blossom and nemophila in spring, water play, camping and fireworks in summer, sweet potato and peanut harvesting in autumn, and mandarin picking and illuminations in winter. Strawberry, blueberry and other fruit picking is also held by season.
