Take the Tosaden bus bound for Katsurahama from JR Kochi Station or Harimaya Bridge, and get off at the final stop. It is about a 5-minute walk from there. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Alternatively, the MY Yuyu bus from JR Kochi Station takes approximately 70 minutes, passing through Makino Botanical Garden and Chikurinji Temple.

You can feed sea turtles, sea lions, penguins, capybaras and other animals. Sea turtle feeding experiences start at ¥100 and are popular because you can feed them from very close range. Please check the official website for fees and times.

In addition to the aquarium, Katsurahama Park has a statue of Sakamoto Ryoma, the Kochi Prefectural Sakamoto Ryoma Memorial Museum, and commercial facilities such as "Katsurahama Sea Terrace". If you plan to visit both the aquarium and the memorial museum, you will need to walk uphill and downhill from the parking lot. Allow 2 to 3 hours total.

Regular opening hours are 9:00–17:00. Hours may change due to seasons or special events. It is open year-round, but temporary closures will be announced on the official website. Check the official website or official SNS for the latest information before visiting.

The facility offers many events that children will enjoy, such as feeding experiences and sea lion and penguin shows. It is characterized by allowing visitors to get very close to the animals. Children from 3 years old require admission (¥400). Please check the official website regarding stroller entry.

Plan for 30 to 60 minutes to view the facility. If you participate in feeding experiences or events, allow 1 to 1.5 hours. If you also plan to explore the Katsurahama beach and see the Ryoma statue, allow about 2 hours total.

Adults ¥1,600, elementary and middle school students ¥600, children (3 years and up) ¥400. Visitors with a disability handbook receive a discount: adults ¥800, elementary and middle school students ¥300, children ¥200. Annual passes cost ¥6,000 for adults, ¥2,000 for elementary and middle school students, and ¥1,000 for children.

You can purchase an annual pass at the aquarium's reception desk. Prices are ¥6,000 for adults, ¥2,000 for elementary and junior high school students, and ¥1,000 for children aged 3 and over. Re-entry is permitted. For details, check the official website.

The akame is a legendary large fish found in Tosa Bay, sometimes exceeding 1 metre in body length. It is a rare fish found only in Kochi Prefecture nationwide. At Katsurahama Aquarium, you can observe them swimming in a group. Their graceful swimming is a must-see spot.

Katsurahama Aquarium is an indoor facility, so it can be enjoyed even in the rain. However, the Katsurahama beach walk and the area around the Ryoma statue are outdoors, so we recommend bringing rain gear. The aquarium itself can be viewed regardless of weather.

Katsurahama Park parking lot (capacity 500 regular vehicles) is available. Regular vehicles cost ¥400. Please note that there are uphill and downhill slopes between the aquarium and the parking lot, which may be difficult for people with mobility issues.
