Tell me about the hotel's concept and architect.
The hotel was inspired by the rice paddies of the Shonai Plain and designed by world-renowned architect Shigeru Ban. It has the appearance of floating on water, and is characterized by a simple, comfortable space that makes use of the warmth of wood.

Children are welcome to stay. Dinner for children 12 and under is served as a single plate. Ages 13 and above receive the same 7-course dinner as adults.

We have three guest room buildings named after the Three Mountains of Dewa (Gassan, Haguro-san, and Yudono-san), with a total of 119 rooms ranging from single to family suites. Some rooms overlook the rice paddies.

We have natural hot spring water drawn from 1,200 metres underground. The indoor bath features distinctive wooden lattice ceiling, and we also have a full-scale Finnish sauna (self-löyly) on site.

The Dewa Sanzan (Gassan, Hagurosan, and Yudonomsan mountains), Tsuruoka Castle ruins, Shonai coast, and Kamo Aquarium are the main sightseeing spots in the area. With about 17 minutes by car to Shonai Airport, it's conveniently located and ideal as a sightseeing base.
