How do I get there from Tendo Station?

What sightseeing spots are near Tendo Onsen?
Tendo City is famous as the town of shogi, producing 95 per cent of Japan's shogi pieces. As well as the Shogi Museum and Tendo Park, known for its cherry blossom, the town is a convenient base for Yamagata Zao and Ginzan Onsen.

Is there anything to be aware of when visiting in winter?
From late December to early March there is snow on the roads morning and evening, so studless tyres or snow chains are needed. Please take care according to the conditions.

There are several types, including Japanese rooms and Japanese-Western rooms such as the modern Japanese deluxe rooms in the Toki-no-Hana annexe. It is a large inn with 86 rooms in total, with both non-smoking and smoking types. Please see the official website for details.

What are the qualities and benefits of the hot spring?
Tendo Onsen is a sodium and calcium sulphate spring, said to help with fatigue, neuralgia, muscle pain, joint pain, frozen shoulder, poor circulation and arteriosclerosis. You can enjoy it in the large baths and open-air baths: Ai-no-Yu for men and Kurenai-no-Yu for women.

What is on the menu?
There are several dining venues, including the private dining rooms of Kurazen, Tendo Dining Komorebi, the Hayama kappo restaurant with a moon view, and the private restaurant Hanaguruma. Yamagata beef and Yonezawa beef steaks, tasting courses and sukiyaki plans are popular, and breakfast is generous too.
