The Yugura communal bath is built around the idea of a hot spring living room. As well as baths filled generously with Yunokawa Onsen water, there are two types of sauna to work up a sweat, after which you can relax in the post-bath lounge.
What are the qualities of Yunokawa Onsen?
Yunokawa Onsen is a sodium and calcium chloride spring (saline spring) with excellent heat retention, said to help with poor circulation and neuralgia. It is odourless with a gentle, moisturising feel.
What kinds of sauna are there?
There are two types of sauna in the Yugura communal bath. After working up a sweat you can step into Hakodate's refreshing air and spend unhurried time in the post-bath lounge.
