How do I get there from JR Kamikawa Station?
Take Dohoku bus route 82 (Kamikawa-Sounkyo line) from JR Kamikawa Station and alight at Choyo Resort-mae, right outside. By taxi it is about 30 minutes.

What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in is 15:00 and check-out is 10:00 as standard. Times may change on particular dates such as the New Year, Obon and holiday weekends.

Can I use the baths at the sister hotel Choyotei?
You can also use the bathing halls at our sister hotel Sounkyo Onsen Choyotei, free for staying guests. Please check the current situation regarding the shuttle bus between the two hotels in advance.
What does it mean that you are the only hotel in Sounkyo with two sources?
Our grounds hold two sources of different character: the white cloudy water and the reddish-brown water. We are the only hotel in the Sounkyo area with both. You can enjoy them in two bathing halls, Tori no Koe on the theme of wood and Kawa no Sasayaki on the theme of rock.

There is a private bath and a stone sauna, a service offered only here in the Sounkyo area. Please check the official website or the front desk for times and charges.

There is a sauna with self-loyly equipment installed in June 2022. It runs at a medium temperature below 80 degrees with high humidity, so it avoids the stifling feel of a dry sauna.

What sights are there nearby?
The Kurodake Ropeway and the Ginga and Ryusei Falls, among Sounkyo's finest scenery, are close by. The hotel is also well placed for the Sounkyo hot spring town and the trailheads of Daisetsuzan National Park, making it an ideal base for sightseeing and climbing.

A free shuttle bus runs from Asahikawa Station (Smile Hotel Asahikawa), booking required. There is also a shuttle from Sapporo Station. Please check the official website or call us before your stay for details.

Dinner is a buffet of more than 40 Japanese, Western and Chinese dishes using seasonal Hokkaido ingredients. Dishes finished in the open kitchen and served fresh are well received.
