How do I get there from Takeo-Onsen Station?
About 12 minutes' walk from the north exit of Takeo-Onsen Station on the JR Sasebo Line, or about 3 minutes by taxi. By car it is about 10 minutes from Takeo-Kitagata IC. From JR Hakata Station it is about 60 minutes on the Sasebo Line.

How close is the Takeo Onsen gate?
The National Treasure gate, designed by Kingo Tatsuno, the architect of Tokyo Station, is within about 5 minutes' walk. Three cultural properties and National Treasures can be seen within 5 minutes' walk, including Kofukuji with its wooden statues of the Four Heavenly Kings, a nationally designated Important Cultural Property.

Can I stay with children?
Yes, you can stay with children. Children's rates are set by age (Child A and B for ages 6-12, Child C for ages 2-5, Child D for ages 0-1). Children aged 3 to under school age sharing a bed are charged a facility fee of 1,000 yen (including service charge, excluding tax), payable on site.

What are the qualities of Takeo Onsen?
It is a good-quality spring known for its smooth feel on the skin. Its history is long enough to be recorded in the Hizen no Kuni Fudoki, and Siebold and Yoshida Shoin are among those recorded as having bathed here. The hot spring area's symbol is its National Treasure gate.
What large communal baths are there?
There are two: the spacious cypress bath Horai-no-Yu and Sakura-no-Yu with its popular jet bath. They swap between men and women morning and evening.
