How do I get there by train from Kyoto or Osaka?
About 1 hour 45 minutes from Kyoto Station on the Hashidate limited express, or about 2 hours from Osaka Station. From Miyazu Station it is about 10 minutes' walk or about 3 minutes by taxi, and free pick-up is also available.

What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in is 14:30-17:00 (latest 17:00) and check-out is 10:00. Please be sure to contact us if you will arrive late.

Can children under school age stay?
Children under 6 (under school age) cannot stay. For elementary school children we prepare a partly adapted menu.

What room types are there?
There are 10 rooms, each with its own character in sukiya, shoin or tearoom style. They were renovated in 2023 for greater comfort. There is also a special room, Horai.

What are the qualities and benefits of Miyazu Onsen?
Miyazu Onsen is a sulphur-bearing sodium chloride spring (hydrogen sulphide type). It is said to help with neuralgia, muscle pain, joint pain, frozen shoulder, chronic digestive complaints, bruises, sprains, poor circulation, fatigue, chronic skin conditions, chronic women's complaints, diabetes, high blood pressure, cuts and burns.
Is there an open-air bath, and what is it like?
There is an open-air bath built with blue stone and Shigaraki ware, with a feel of the natural world. The large communal baths swap between men and women at 21:00.

How long does it take to Amanohashidate?
We offer free pick-up from Amanohashidate Station, and it is about 5 minutes by taxi from Miyazu Station. The inn is well placed for seeing Amanohashidate, one of Japan's three great views.

Is there a free pick-up service, and from which stations?
We collect guests free of charge from Miyazu or Amanohashidate Station during check-in hours (about 14:30-17:30). Please tell us which station and what time. In busy periods such as the New Year and Obon we may only be able to serve Miyazu Station.

What food can I enjoy?
We serve carefully prepared Kyoto-style kaiseki through the seasons. From spring to summer, Tango rock oysters (late April to August) and cockles (mid-May to mid-July); in winter, snow crab and yellowtail shabu-shabu. Seasonal Tango ingredients such as tilefish are used to the full.
What should I do if I have an allergy?
Please be sure to tell us about any food allergies when booking, and we will accommodate them as far as possible.
