How do I get there from Kinosaki-Onsen Station?
About 5 minutes from JR Kinosaki-Onsen Station on the free shuttle bus run jointly by the inn association. From Tajima-Kuko IC on the Toyooka Expressway it is about 30 minutes by car.
Is there anything to watch out for when driving here in winter?
In winter (December to March) there is a risk of snow and ice, so please have snow tyres or chains ready.

What is the atmosphere like?
It is a three-storey wooden inn that blends into the hot spring town, with Katsura Kogoro's calligraphy and large Japanese paintings displayed in the lobby: an atmospheric space with a literary and artistic air.

I heard the inn is connected with Katsura Kogoro. What is the history?
It is known as the inn where Katsura Kogoro (later Kido Takayoshi) hid at the end of the Edo period while being pursued by Aizu retainers and the Shinsengumi. Many of his letters and Japanese paintings are displayed in the lobby and around the inn, so you stay amid a sense of that history.

We serve kaiseki meals using seafood from the Sea of Japan and produce from the Tajima mountains. In winter there are crab dishes as well. The Katsura kaiseki plan, named after Katsura Kogoro, is also popular.
