Can I see the Chikuma River from every room?
Almost every room, apart from a few, has a large window looking down over the magnificent Chikuma River. The view is one of the things we are proudest of.

Is there a garden I can walk in?
There is a garden of about 600 tsubo, among the largest in the area, free to walk in. Enjoy the trees and plants as they change with the season.

What are the qualities of the hot spring?
The water comes from three sources of our own on the grounds and is an alkaline simple spring, mild and gentle on the skin, known as a beautifying bath. There is a range of baths: indoor, open-air, jar baths, three private baths and a foot bath.

What sights are there around Togura-Kamiyamada Onsen?
Popular destinations include the terraced fields and night view at Obasuteyama (Chorakuji), Zenkoji in Nagano City (about 40 minutes by car) and Ueda Castle (about 30 minutes). There are also seasonal pleasures: apricot blossom in spring, fireworks and summer festivals, and fruit picking in autumn.

Is Wi-Fi available, and where?
Wi-Fi is available in certain areas: the Japanese rooms on the fourth and fifth floors of the main building, all rooms on floors 1 to 4 of the Seiryutei wing, the library and the large banquet room Raicho. Smartphones and handheld games consoles can also connect.

What leisure facilities are there?
There is a karaoke room with a sunken kotatsu and hot spring table tennis. The library holds books and photograph collections about Shinshu.

There is a free pick-up from Togura Station (please contact us in advance). By bus, alight at Onsen Koen-mae and walk about 1 minute.

How do I get there?
From Shinonoi Station on the JR Shinonoi Line, take the Shinano Railway to Togura Station, then the bus towards Kamiyamada Onsen, about 8 minutes, alighting at Onsen Koen-mae, then about 1 minute's walk. Or take our free pick-up from Togura Station (please contact us in advance). By car it is about 15 minutes from Koshoku IC on the Nagano Expressway along Route 18, or about 15 minutes from Sakaki IC on the Joshin-etsu Expressway.
