How do I get there from Morioka Station?
About 40 minutes by free shuttle bus from the west exit of Morioka Station (booking required on 019-695-3333 or 0120-123-389). By car it is about 20 minutes from Morioka interchange.

What events are held in the festival square?
The festival square hosts daily events including taiko drumming by the staff, Sansa dancing, bingo and mochi pounding, along with festival stalls, enjoyable for all ages.

Are there rooms with an open-air bath?
There are Shikisai rooms with their own open-air bath fed at 100 per cent from the source. They are refined spaces with a choice of cypress or ceramic tubs, Airweave mattresses and air purifiers.

What are the bathing facilities like?
Our signature bath is the elevated open-air bath using Oshuku Onsen, first tapped about 450 years ago. There are two bathing areas, Western and Japanese, which alternate, with views over the Shizukuishi basin and towards Mount Iwate and Mount Himekami. Both also have spacious bathing halls, semi-open-air baths and saunas.

Can I see Mount Iwate?
From the elevated open-air bath and the rooms you can see Mount Iwate, also known as the Nanbu Katafuji, along with Mount Akita-Komagatake, Mount Himekami and the Shizukuishi basin.
What is Flower & Garden Mori no Kaze?
It is a full-scale gardening park attached to the hotel, among the largest in Japan. At night it becomes a garden of light with 330,000 bulbs, much admired by guests.

We serve creative Japanese cuisine built on local ingredients, a table that reflects the seasons and appeals to all the senses. Guests in the Shikisai rooms dine on a special creative kaiseki menu in a private room at the Robatayaki Sansatei, built in the style of a Nanbu magariya farmhouse.
