How do I get there from Yamagata Station?
About 40 minutes on the Yamako bus for Zao Onsen from JR Yamagata Station to the last stop, then about 15 minutes' walk, or take our pick-up from the Zao Onsen bus terminal (booking required).

How convenient is it for the ski area?
Zao Onsen ski area is close by, making the hotel convenient in the ski season. There is also a drying room for ski gear.

What is distinctive about the hot spring?
The water rises naturally at just the right temperature and in generous quantity. It is the strongly acidic sulphur water of Zao Onsen, and you can bathe outdoors in summer and in the open air amid snow in winter. There is also a private bath.
