As well as tennis courts, there are Segway sessions (age 16 and over, booking required), bicycle hire (spring to autumn) and stargazing events (some charged).

The hotel adjoins Joshin-etsu-kogen National Park and skiing is available in winter. It is about 50 minutes from Usui-Karuizawa IC (studless tyres or chains are essential in winter).

There is an indoor heated pool on the first floor called comori Park (open all year, with maintenance days). The water is kept at around 29 degrees Celsius, and there are shallow jet baths where young children can play safely.

You can enjoy Onioshi Onsen, flowing continuously from a source on Mount Asama. There are several types of room with their own open-air bath where you can bathe with a superb view, plus a large communal bath and a sauna.

A free shuttle bus runs daily from the south exit rotary of JR Karuizawa Station (about 40-50 minutes). Booking is essential, via the official website by 18:00 the previous day. Departures are at 10:40, 14:30 and 16:50, subject to change.
