What should I set as the destination on my car navigation system?

Entering Uzu no Michi into a car navigation system can direct you elsewhere. Please set Onaruto Bridge Memorial Hall Eddy (65 Fukuike, Tosadomari-ura, Naruto-cho, Naruto City, Tokushima Prefecture) as your destination.

How do I get there?

Take a local bus bound for Naruto Koen from JR Naruto Station, get off at Naruto Koen and walk about 5 minutes. On a highway bus from the Kansai area, get off at Naruto Koen-guchi and walk about 3 minutes. By car it is about 5 minutes from Naruto-kita IC on the Kobe-Awaji-Naruto Expressway.

無障礙 (1)

Can children and older visitors manage the walk?

The walkway is a covered passage inside the bridge. The glass-floored sections give a strong sense of height, so please take care if you are uncomfortable with heights. Ramps and handrails are in place; please enquire for details.

Photography is permitted inside the walkway. You can photograph the sea through the glass floor, or the superb views of the Naruto Strait from the side of the bridge.

Is there a combined ticket with the Otsuka Museum of Art?

There is a combined admission ticket with Eddy, the Onaruto Bridge Memorial Hall, in the same Naruto Park. Regarding a combined ticket with the Otsuka Museum of Art, please check each facility's official website.

設施概要 (1)

What is the Uzu no Michi?

It is a 450 m walkway over the sea, built in the girder space beneath the roadway of the Onaruto Bridge. There are four rest areas along the way, and parts of the floor are glass, letting you look down 45 m to the tidal currents and whirlpools of the Naruto Strait.

看點 (1)

Can the whirlpools be seen at any time?

The whirlpools are created by tidal flow, so they cannot always be seen. The largest whirlpools occur during the spring tides (in spring and autumn) and can reach 20-30 m across. Please check a tide table in advance for the best timing.

雨天 (1)

Can I enjoy it on a rainy day?

As the walkway is covered and inside the bridge, you can watch the whirlpools without getting wet in the rain. However, strong wind can blow through in places, so we recommend dressing for cold and wind.

停車場 (1)

Is there a dedicated car park?

Uzu no Michi has no dedicated car park. Please use the nearby Naruto Park car park (charged). The car park is open 9:00-17:30 (8:30-18:00 from 20 July to 31 August).
