Why can the inn only be reached by boat?
The inn stands in a remote spot on the Komaki Dam lake in the Shogawa Gorge, reachable only by a boat trip of about 30 minutes from Komaki port. That sense of being far from everyday life is a large part of its appeal.
What is the boat timetable?
On the regular timetable (April to November) there are four departures from Komaki port: 8:30, 10:30, 14:30 and 16:00. The spring timetable (February to March) is 9:00, 11:30, 14:30 and 16:00, and the winter timetable (December to January) is 9:00, 11:30 and 15:20. Times may change, so please check the official website in advance.

There is a large communal bath and an open-air bath, where you can bathe while looking out on the scenery of the Shogawa Gorge.

What food is served?
We serve kaiseki cuisine using the bounty of the mountains and rivers. Dishes include sweetfish from the Shogawa River in season and a lively kaiseki menu featuring seafood from the Sea of Japan and Toyama Bay.

You cannot drive to the inn. There is free parking for 30 vehicles at Komaki port, where the boats leave. Please leave your car there and come by boat.
