How do I get there from Yonezawa Station?
About 20 minutes by car from JR Yonezawa Station, or about 30 minutes on the loop bus bound for Shirabu Onsen via Onogawa Onsen. From Yonezawa-Chuo IC on the Tohoku-Chuo Expressway it is about 20 minutes.

There are no beauty treatments, but a massage (shiatsu) can be arranged in your room. Please book in advance by phone or email (4,000 yen for 40 minutes, as of January 2025).

Yes, you can stay with children. The neutral, gentle water is suitable even for babies, so the whole family can enjoy it, free of charge.

What room types are there?
You can choose from three sizes of Japanese room: 8, 10 and 12.5 mats. Rooms looking out over the Azuma mountains and the Onogawa Onsen town are decorated with seasonal flowers, and a kotatsu is provided in winter.

Tell me about the inn's history.
It is a long-established inn with about 250 years of history, loved as a bathing-cure lodging since 1789. Standing on high ground in Onogawa Onsen, it has been a familiar presence locally for many years.

What are the qualities of the hot spring?
It is the celebrated water of Onogawa Onsen, known as a beauty bath associated with the poet Ono no Komachi. We use two of our own sources according to the season, with no added water and no reheating, flowing continuously from the source. The neutral water, with its scent of sulphur and floating mineral flakes, is gentle enough for babies.

There is a private bath, popular with couples and families.

What is the food like?
The main dish is Yonezawa beef, served as sukiyaki or shabu-shabu (each group may choose), alongside home-made local dishes using seasonal Yamagata ingredients from the rich nature of the Azuma mountains. There are also plans with A5-grade Yonezawa beef steak.
