How do I get there from Takamatsu?
About 60 minutes by ferry from Takamatsu Port to Kusakabe, Ikeda or Tonosho Port. High-speed boats also serve Tonosho and Kusakabe. From Kusakabe Port it is about 20 minutes by car, from Ikeda Port about 30 minutes and from Tonosho Port about 40 minutes. The Horikoshi bus stop is about 2 minutes' walk away.
Is there a pick-up service?
There is one pick-up and one drop-off service a day. Please book by the day before if you would like to use it.
How do I get there from the Kansai region?
About 100 minutes by ferry from Himeji Port to Fukuda Port, then about 35 minutes by car from Fukuda Port.

How does it differ from the main inn Shimayado Mari?
Shimayado Mari is the main inn, on the soy sauce brewery street, a Japanese-style inn with soy sauce kaiseki and an open-air bath. Kaine Mari, which opened in April 2019, is a separate house standing on the shore of the Tanoura peninsula, a modern inn with an ocean view, about 5 minutes by car from the main inn.

There is an open-air hot spring bath, along with a private bath for bathing in seclusion.

What food is served?
Dinner is an olive kaiseki using Shodoshima olive oil. Seasonal ingredients such as Seto Inland Sea fish and island vegetables are prepared to bring out their freshness, with a chosen Shodoshima olive oil. Wooden-barrel-brewed soy sauce and our own seasonings are also used.
