How do I get here from Nasu-Shiobara Station?
Take the route bus (heading to Nasu Ropeway) from either JR Nasu-Shiobara Station or Kuroiso Station and get off at Yumoto 1-chome. This route bus requires a reservation at least 2 days before your stay (a boarding voucher is required). The fare is 500 yen. We do not provide shuttle service from the inn.

What are some nearby tourist attractions?
The inn is conveniently located for visits to Nasu Outlet Garden, Nasu Animal Kingdom, and other attractions. We are located just off the main street of the hot spring town, Nasu Kaido (Prefectural Road 17).

What types of rooms do you have?
We offer 7 Japanese-style rooms. Options include a 8-tatami Japanese room (with toilet) and a 2-room Japanese suite (8-tatami + 6-tatami with toilet). We also have a 14-tatami Japanese-Western room that was renovated in August 2024.

Do you offer day-use bathing?
Yes, day-use bathing is available. Reception hours are 10:30–14:00 (final admission). Prices are 600 yen for adults, 300 yen for children, and free for children under 4. During busy times we may have to decline entry, so please call ahead to confirm.

Do you have a private family bath?
You can use our private family bath free of charge. The bathroom is equipped with amenities including body soap, rinse-in shampoo, and razors.
What type of hot spring water do you have?
We use the same source as Shika-no-yu: sulphur-containing calcium sulphate-chloride hot spring (hydrogen sulphide type, acidic, low-tension, high-temperature). The water is characterised by a white cloudy appearance and the aroma of sulphur. We offer 100% source water flowing directly, with no recirculation. Only the uchi-yu (bucket bath) is diluted with added water; all other baths use pure source water.
What is the 'Nigori Yu no Kai'?
It is an association of inns and hotels in Tochigi Prefecture that pride themselves on cloudy hot spring water. Ryokan Yamakawa is a member of this association and is certified as a lodging where you can enjoy authentic cloudy hot spring water.
