How do I get there?
About 8 minutes' walk from exit 5 of Karasuma-Oike subway station, or about 3 minutes by taxi. From JR Kyoto Station it is about 6 minutes on the subway Karasuma Line to Karasuma-Oike. The Hankyu and Keihan stations are also within walking distance.

Standard check-in is 15:00 and check-out is 10:30. If you will check in after 18:00, please contact the property in advance.

When are tea gatherings held in the tea room?
On the evenings of the 7th and 17th of each month, after dinner, we set the kettle in the tea room and hold a tea gathering to which guests are invited. A matcha experience is also available during your stay.

All rooms have been non-smoking for stays from 1 October 2024. Please contact the property directly about smoking elsewhere in the building.

Can children stay?
For stays from 1 April 2024 we accept only children in category A (age 6-12). Children aged 5 and under cannot stay.

What room types are there?
Each room and its garden is a purely Japanese space in the finely wrought sukiya style. Raised chairs can be provided for guests who find sitting on the floor difficult; please let us know. There are also Japanese-style rooms with beds.

There are two tea rooms in the building. Amenities include yukata, towels, bath towels, toothbrushes, shampoo, conditioner, body soap, a hairdryer and children's yukata.

What is the food like?
We serve Kyoto kaiseki using seasonal Kyoto vegetables, brought to your room dish by dish so that hot dishes arrive hot and cold dishes cold. The seasonal dishes are served on vessels chosen in the Sumiya style.

We direct guests to a car park nearby, free for guests and taking vehicles up to 2.2 m high. Please discuss taller vehicles with us in advance.
