We do not offer a shuttle service. From Aizu-Wakamatsu Station, take the town loop bus (Haikara-san or Akabe) to Higashiyama Onsen Station, then walk for about 90 seconds. By taxi it takes about 15 minutes.

I heard the building is a cultural property. What kind of building is it?
It is a wooden structure that was designated as a Registered Tangible Cultural Property by the national government in 1996 (Heisei 8)—the first such designation for ryokan architecture nationwide. Four buildings including the entrance building and guest room building are designated. The structure is characterized by its multi-story design that takes advantage of the sloped terrain.

The private bath is free of charge and does not require a reservation. Please feel free to use it.
What types of hot spring water are available?
All bathing facilities in the building use 100% water from Mukaitaki 1, 2, and 3 hot springs with complete flow-through systems (no added water, heating, or circulation). There are three bathing areas: Tsuta no Yu, Hyotan no Yu, and Suzu no Yu, all available 24 hours. The private bath is also free and available without reservation.

Are there nearby sightseeing spots?
Aizu Wakamatsu city has attractions including Tsuruga Castle, Iimori Mountain (graves of the Byakkotai and the Sazaedo pagoda), and the Aizu Samurai Residence. They are accessible by regular bus from Higashiyama Onsen in about 20 minutes.

Both dinner and breakfast are served in your room. We focus on local Aizu cuisine and samurai-style dishes, including vegetables from the Aizu basin, river fish from clear streams, and sweet simmered carp. We do not use chemical seasonings or artificial sweeteners.
