How do I get there from Kofu Station?
Take a local bus from terminal 3 at the south exit of Kofu Station on the JR Chuo Line, get off at the Yumura-iriguchi stop and walk about 5 minutes. By car it is about 5 km and 20 minutes from Kofu-Showa IC on the Chuo Expressway along the Alps-dori (Route 6).

Is the inn accessible?
There is a private bath, Haru-no-Yu, that a wheelchair can enter. It has a small room with a sunken kotatsu where you can let your legs down, and an accessible toilet, so guests with disabilities and older guests can use it comfortably.

What is the history of Yumura Onsen?
It is a celebrated spring with more than 1,200 years of history, with a tradition that Kobo Daishi struck the ground with his staff to show the villagers where the hot water lay. In Takeda Shingen's time wounded soldiers took cures here, so it is also known as one of Shingen's hidden baths.

What are the qualities of the hot spring?
It is an abundant natural hot spring, celebrated as one of Takeda Shingen's hidden baths. At the foot of Mount Yumura near the Shosenkyo Gorge, it offers surroundings that hardly feel like the city of Kofu.
What kinds of baths are there?
There are four open-air baths of various sizes, including Ishi-no-Yu and Hana-no-Yu. The rock bath, the origin of Yanagiya, is an open and airy open-air bath framed by 446 m Mount Yumura. Both Ishi-no-Yu and Hana-no-Yu also have storehouse-style saunas.

Yumura Onsen is a convenient base for Shosenkyo and touring the Kai region. Access from Kofu Station is good, and Takeda Shrine and the Kofu Castle site (Maizuru Castle Park) are about 10-15 minutes away by car.
