Is there a pick-up service?
Take the local bus from JR Matsumoto Station to the Nakanoyu stop, from where there is a free pick-up for guests (booking required).

You can reach Kamikochi on the local bus from the Nakanoyu stop near the inn. The stop is some way from the inn, so if you are coming by bus please wait at the nearby Nakanoyu shop.

Can I leave my luggage or car after check-out?
We will hold your car and luggage until the evening after check-out, which is useful if you are climbing Mount Yake or doing something else after check-out.

Check-in is 13:00-17:00 (latest 17:00) and check-out is 10:00. If you will arrive after 17:00, please contact us in advance.

Can I use the inn as a base for climbing Mount Yake?
Yes, the Shin-Nakanoyu route trailhead is close by, making the inn an ideal base for climbing Mount Yake. The round trip takes about 5 hours and suits a first climb in the Northern Alps. We give out Mount Yake and Kamikochi maps and offer climbing plans that include a day bathing ticket for after the descent and a rice ball lunch.

Are you open in winter?
Yes, we are the only inn in the Kamikochi area open all year, and we can be used as a base for seeing Kamikochi in winter. In winter a gate is placed on the road, so please telephone the inn from the Nakanoyu shop.

How many rooms are there, and what types?
There are 43 rooms, all Japanese-style, with a television, tea set, fridge (in some rooms), washlet toilet, towels, bath towels and yukata.

Can I bathe without staying overnight?
Day bathing is available 12:00-17:00, at 800 yen for adults and 400 yen for children (elementary school age and under), including tax.
What kind of hot spring water is it?
Natural hot spring water from our own source, fed continuously to eight baths 24 hours a day without recirculation. You can also drink it at the spout. There are open-air and private baths as well.

What is the food like?
For dinner, the Shinshu beef magnolia leaf steak plan is popular. We serve dishes using Shinshu ingredients through the seasons. Breakfast can be changed to a packed meal; guests leaving early should request this by 17:00 on the day of check-in.

Is there parking, and is there a charge?
There is parking for about 50 cars, free of charge. In winter only four-wheel-drive vehicles with snow tyres can come up to the inn. Other vehicles should contact the inn at the Abo Pass entrance gate.

How do I get there?
