Will there be snow if I visit in winter?
Kurokawa Onsen is located in mountainous terrain at approximately 700 metres elevation and may experience snowfall in winter. If driving, please prepare tire chains or snow tyres.
How do I get there by bus or train?
There are 2 direct buses daily from Fukuoka and 4 buses daily on the Kyushu Crossland route connecting Beppu and Kumamoto. There are no JR stations nearby, so bus travel is most convenient. For details, please contact the reservation center at 096-354-4845.

The main building is located on the onsen village side, so you can enjoy strolling through Kurokawa Onsen in your yukata. You can purchase a spa pass to bathe at other ryokans' outdoor hot springs.

It is the largest open-air bath in Kurokawa Onsen. The bath alternates between men and women daily, so guests can enjoy both the large and small outdoor baths during their stay.

Is there a shuttle service?

Is there a parking lot? Where is it located?
There is a free parking lot along National Route 442. Do not head into the hot spring town; please come along the main road. From the Kyushu direction, go straight about 400m past the Kurokawa Onsen entrance (without turning right at the gas station). From the Oguni direction, it is on the left side, two buildings past the tunnel.

How do I get there?
About 1 hour by car from Hita Station or Hita IC. From JR Aso Station, take the Kyushu Cross-Highland sightseeing bus toward Beppu for about 60 minutes to Kurokawa Onsen. Complimentary pickup available to Oguni Town Michi-no-Eki Yuu Station or Kurokawa Onsen bus stop (advance reservation required). Free parking available along Route 442.
