How do I get there from the nearest station, and is there a transfer?
About 10 minutes by taxi from Takatsuki Station on the JR Hokuriku Main Line, or we can collect you free of charge if you book in advance. By car it is about 25 minutes from Nagahama IC on the Hokuriku Expressway via the Sazanami Kaido.

What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in is 14:00 and check-out is 11:00. Times may differ depending on the plan, so please check.

Is there a foot bath?
There is a foot bath beside the ground-floor terrace, where you can soak your feet while taking in the magnificent view of northern Lake Biwa.
Is there a stone sauna?
There is a stone sauna on site using Choseiseki stone from Shiga Prefecture. Combine it with the hot spring to warm yourself thoroughly.

When does Chikubushima look best?
As evening approaches, Lake Biwa turns red and the contrast with Chikubushima is superb. The evening view in front of the inn is listed among Japan's 100 best sunsets, and the sunset seen from the open-air bath is exceptional.

What are the qualities and benefits of the hot spring?
Onoe Onsen is a sodium bicarbonate spring that is good for the skin. The soft, golden-coloured water is said to leave the skin smooth.
Is there also a communal bath, and what are the hours?
A communal bath is also available. It is not alternated between men and women and can be used 6:00-9:30 and 11:00-24:00.

All rooms have an open-air bath. What are they like?
Each room has a marble indoor bath and a granite open-air bath. When you sit in the bath the horizon is at eye level, so you can bathe while enjoying the beautiful view of Chikubushima island floating on Lake Biwa.

Is it suitable for couples or anniversaries?
Every room has a semi-open-air hot spring bath and a private outlook over Chikubushima. Known for its okaerinasaimase welcome, the inn is ideal for special anniversaries and trips for couples.

What is the food like?
We serve seasonal lake-fish dishes such as willow gudgeon from winter to spring, and sweetfish, eel and duck from early summer to early autumn, alongside a daily changing kaiseki menu using Omi beef. Our Kyoto-style kaiseki making the most of seasonal ingredients is well received.
