How do I get there from Manza-Kazawaguchi Station?
About 40 minutes by bus or 35 minutes by taxi from Manza-Kazawaguchi Station on the JR Agatsuma Line. From Karuizawa Station it is about 1 hour 45 minutes by bus. Satellite navigation may not find us accurately by address, so we recommend setting it for Manza Onsen ski area.
Is there anything to watch out for in winter?
In winter Route 292 between Manza and Kusatsu is closed, so the inn can only be reached via the Manza Highway. Chains or snow tyres are essential when there is snow.

What are the qualities of the hot spring?
We use a source known as Nigayu, the bitter water. It is an acidic sulphur-bearing spring at 75.8 degrees and pH 2.3, held to help with stomach and intestinal complaints, rheumatism, neuralgia, respiratory conditions and women's complaints. It also has the unusual quality of turning cloudy and clear by turns.
Can I bathe without staying overnight?
Day bathing is available 8:30-16:30, at 800 yen for adults and 400 yen for children. Hours may be shortened in busy periods such as holiday weekends, so please check.
What is the view from the open-air bath?
From the open-air bath with its scent of hinoki you can see Mount Motoshirane and the magnificent natural scenery of Manza. At 1,800 m it is a bath above the clouds, where you can also soak under the stars. The view is especially fine when the rhododendrons flower.
