Is Ikaho's Kogane no Yu rare?
Kogane no Yu is a brown spring that flows beneath the Ikaho stone stairway and is distributed to each inn, a traditional and rare type of water. It has been cherished since ancient times and even appears in the Man'yoshu poetry anthology.
What are the qualities of the hot spring?
You can enjoy both of Ikaho Onsen's celebrated springs at once: Kogane no Yu (brown, a bicarbonate spring) and Shirogane no Yu (clear, discovered in 1996).
