Take the Akita Shinkansen to Tazawako Station, then the local bus (Hachimantai Line) for approximately 70 minutes and get off at "Shin-Tamagawa Onsen-mae" (0 minutes walk). You can also use the shared taxi service (Airport Liner) from Akita Airport. During winter, only the local bus is available.

Check-in is 15:00–18:00, and check-out is 10:00. We cannot accept check-ins after 18:00. During winter (December–April), the final local bus departs at 12:35, so if you miss it, you cannot arrive that day. We recommend departing early.

Shin-Tamagawa Onsen is open year-round. However, from December to mid-April, National Route 341 is closed to general vehicles, so access by private car is not possible. Please use the local bus from Tazawako Station (final departure 12:35).

It is a strongly acidic hot spring with pH 1.2 and hydrochloric acid as the main component. It boasts Japan's highest single-source discharge volume at approximately 9,000 litres per minute and also contains trace amounts of radium. Low-level radiation hormesis effects are expected to promote natural healing. It is said to be beneficial for neuralgia, rheumatism, joint pain, poor circulation, and chronic skin conditions.
