What kind of garden is Gunhoen?
It is a garden associated with Toyotomi Hideyoshi and is said to have been designed by Sen no Rikyū. It is one of the three famous gardens of Yamato. Spanning 10,000 tsubo, this celebrated garden offers changing scenery with each season.

The facility traces its origins to Chikurin-in temple, said to have been founded by Prince Shotoku, and has a 1,300-year history as a temple lodging.
