Yes. The site is at 1,100 m, and snow and icy roads are expected from around November to April. Please be sure to fit winter tyres or carry chains.

For safety and site management reasons, fishing on the site is not permitted. The Kuma River, about 10 minutes away by car, offers mountain stream fishing. Fishing permits are sold at convenience stores and elsewhere.

Cancelling early check-in on the day incurs 100 per cent of the service charge, and no refund is made if traffic or other circumstances mean you arrive at the normal time. Please see the user guide on the official website for other cancellation terms.

There is a paid early check-in service. It is not available on some dates depending on bookings, so please check the season calendar on the official website before applying. It may be unavailable on days when many guests stayed the previous night.

For buildings (cottages and cabins), check-in is 14:00 and check-out is 10:30. For tent sites, check-in is 13:00 and check-out is 11:30. You may stay on the site before check-in and after check-out (entry from 9:00).

Booking is required, online or by phone. If there is space, same-day bookings can be made by phone. Online booking requires free user registration.

There is a wide range, including cottages, cabins and treehouses. Cottages with a wood stove and treehouses up in the trees (such as the mushroom type) are popular. There are also extensive tent sites for car camping.

The area is dotted with scenic destinations such as Karuizawa and Kusatsu, so the site makes a convenient base, with an enjoyable drive on the way.

Showers are available 24 hours a day with no booking (except during cleaning, around 9:00-10:00 each morning; 200 yen for 7 minutes). They are unavailable in winter (around November to late April) to prevent freezing.

We provide instructional videos so that beginners can use a wood stove with confidence. If you have trouble lighting or operating it, our Kamchatka team will come to your accommodation to help.

There is free parking. If you arrive before check-in, please call at the management building front desk and we will direct you to the car park.

The usual route is from Usui-Karuizawa IC on the Joshin-etsu Expressway via Karuizawa Town. A direct highway bus to Kita-Karuizawa also runs from Shibuya Station (services vary by season).
