The keep is illuminated from sunset until 22:00 every day of the year. It is a popular spot symbolising Kokura by night.
When are the cherry blossoms at their best?
About 300 cherry trees are planted in the castle grounds, usually at their best from late March to early April. In autumn you can also enjoy the colours of the zelkova and ginkgo trees.

There are municipal and private car parks around Kokura Castle. It is convenient to arrive via the Otemachi or Katsuyama ramp of the Kitakyushu Urban Expressway.
