Do I need to prepare for frozen roads in winter?
As the facility is in a mountainous area, snow and ice are possible in winter. We recommend having studless tires or chains.

What is the difference between this place and Yamimizu-ki?
Shinzan Sanso was born as an annex to Yamimizu-ki. Its defining feature is that all rooms have a private hot spring bath. Unlike Yamimizu-ki, you can feel nature more deeply in a separate cottage-style space and spend time at leisure.

From Aso Kumamoto Airport: Kyushu Yokodan Bus approximately 150 minutes to Kurokawa Onsen. From Fukuoka Airport: direct bus to Kurokawa Onsen approximately 140 minutes. From Hita IC on the Oita Expressway: approximately 70 minutes. From the bus stop: taxi approximately 5 minutes or complimentary shuttle bus available.
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in is from 15:00, check-out is at 11:00 (20-hour leisurely stay type).
What is the hot spring bath in the rooms like?
All rooms have a private hot spring bath. You can enjoy the private space and soak in the hot spring anytime at your convenience. Each room offers different mountain lodge scenery.
Is there a large communal bath or outdoor bath?
There are separate outdoor baths and indoor baths for men and women along the stream. You can hear the murmur of the river and the song of birds, and at night enjoy a natural planetarium.
Can I use the hot springs at the sister facilities?
Guests can bathe free of charge in the outdoor baths at our sister facilities Shinmeikan and Yamimizu-ki. You can enjoy hot springs with different atmospheres.
What style of dining is offered?
Seasonal creative kaiseki cuisine is available at the restaurant "Miyama Dining Aze". Day-visit dining is also possible.
