How do I get there by train and bus?
Take a Nara Kotsu bus bound for Shingu from Kintetsu Yamato-Yagi Station to the Totsukawa Onsen stop (about 4 hours). From JR Shingu Station it is about 60 minutes by car via National Route 168, and from Gojo City about 80 minutes south on the same road.

What sightseeing spots are nearby?
Nearby are the Tanize Suspension Bridge (297.7 m long), the yaen hand-powered ropeway, Tamaki Shrine and the Kohechi route of the Kumano Kodo. Totsukawa is known as the largest village in Japan, with plenty of nature to explore.

What is the atmosphere of the inn?
It is a homely inn whose motto is a family atmosphere. Country cooking, the hot spring and the local flowering branches and wild plants displayed indoors put guests at ease, for an unhurried stay amid the nature of Totsukawa Village.
When was the inn founded, and what is it like?
It is a long-established inn founded in 1924 and renovated in 1995. Our motto is to keep as much of a family atmosphere as we can, welcoming guests with country cooking and warm hospitality.

What is distinctive about the hot spring?
You can bathe in Totsukawa Onsen water flowing continuously from the source. The Totsukawa hot spring area is designated a National Health Resort by the Ministry of the Environment, and its sodium bicarbonate and chloride water is known as a beauty bath.

What is distinctive about the food?
Our pride is country cooking made with local Totsukawa ingredients. We decorate the inn with flowering branches and wild plants gathered in the local hills, for hospitality full of the season. Enjoy warming dishes made with the produce of the region.
