How do I get here from Yugawara Station?
From JR Tokaido Main Line "Yugawara Station," take a local bus (heading towards Hot Spring Area or Oku-Yugawara) for approximately 13 minutes and get off at "Park Entrance" bus stop, from which the facility is nearby. Alternatively, a taxi takes about 5 minutes. From Tokyo, it is about 20 minutes from the Isshashi IC on the Seisho Bypass.

When was the inn founded? What does registered tangible cultural property mean?
Founded in 1888 (Meiji 21). In April 2014, the gate posts, stone walls, and 2 of the 3 main buildings were registered as registered tangible cultural properties of Japan. This is a rare opportunity to stay in a historic building with cultural heritage value.
What is the connection to Shimaki Tōson?
The inn is known as where the acclaimed author Shimaki Tōson developed the original concept for his masterpiece 'Before the Dawn'. The lobby displays Tōson's manuscripts, personal belongings, guest registers, and historical menus.

On February 26, 1936, this inn was the site of the 2-26 Incident, where Count Nobuaki Makino, who was staying here, was attacked by soldiers of the Azabu First Regiment. It is a historically significant inn.

Our facility is located in the center of Yugawara Hot Spring, at the entrance of Manyo Park. The park's foot bath "Doppo no Yu" is also within walking distance.
