Is there a pick-up service?
For groups of 20 or more we offer a pick-up from JR Tsuchiura Station or Tsukuba Station on the Tsukuba Express (advance booking required).
How do I get there by train?
About 40 minutes on the shuttle bus for Mount Tsukuba from Tsukuba Station on the Tsukuba Express (alight at Tsukubasan Jinja-iriguchi and walk about 5 minutes), or about 30 minutes by taxi. From Tsuchiura Station on the JR Joban Line it is about 60 minutes by bus.

How many rooms are there, and what types?
There are 38 rooms, all with magnificent views of the Kanto plain or Mount Tsukuba. There is a wide range of types, including rooms with their own open-air bath (in ceramic or hinoki styles) and Japanese-Western rooms.

We serve Japanese kaiseki using colourful seasonal ingredients. You can choose between dining in your room and the Japanese dining room with its show kitchen.

What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in is 15:00-21:00 and check-out is 10:00. Late check-out is available at 1,100 yen per hour, up to 2 hours.

What kind of hot spring water is it?
Tsukubasan Onsen is an alkaline simple spring known as a beautifying bath that leaves the skin smooth. You can enjoy it in the bathing hall Ginga no Yu and the open-air bath with a view, Unjo no Yu.
What is the view from the open-air bath Unjo no Yu?
The open-air bath on the top floor gives a 180-degree panorama over the Kanto plain. On clear days you can see as far as Mount Fuji and the Southern Alps, and at night the lights of the science city glitter like jewels.
Can I bathe without staying overnight?
Day bathing is available, 12:00-15:00. Discount vouchers for the panoramic open-air bath are also issued; please see the official website.

About 5 minutes' walk to Tsukubasan Shrine. The cable car station and Ibaraki Flower Park are also easy to reach.
