Free shuttle bus service is available from JR Kurayoshi Station (reservation required, approximately 10 minutes). From Sanin Expressway Hawai IC by car, approximately 10 minutes.

What is the origin of the name Hawai Onsen?
Hawai Onsen is said to have been named after Hawaii due to its similar climate and scenery. It opened in Meiji 35 (1902) and has the rare history of hot spring water welling up from the lake bottom.

The water is calcium-sodium sulfate spring (low-mineral slightly alkaline salt spring), known to be effective for neuralgia, fatigue recovery, and lower back pain.
What is the lakeside open-air bath?
It is an open-air bath floating on Lake Togo, connected by a vermillion arched bridge—a rare hot spring bath found nowhere else in Japan. You can soak while enjoying panoramic lake views. From Monday to Friday, we host rose-scented baths from 13:00 to 23:00.
