How do I get there from Tokyo or Sendai?
About 1 hour 20 minutes from Tokyo, or about 30 minutes from Sendai, to Shiroishi-Zao Station on the JR Tohoku Shinkansen. From Shiroishi-Zao Station take the Miyako Sennan bus for Togatta Onsen, about 50 minutes, alight at Togatta Onsen and walk about 15 minutes. By car it is about 30 minutes from Shiroishi IC or Murata IC.

Check-in is 15:00 and check-out is 11:00. Times may differ by plan.

Can guests with limited mobility use the inn?
There are many steps on the site and the outdoor corridors are long, so it may be hard going for anyone unsteady on their feet. Please discuss it with us in advance.

Can I stay with children?
We do not accept children under 12. The inn is for adult guests only, so please note this when booking.

What room types are there?
All 18 rooms are detached, in five types. Every room has a Simmons bed, and some have a private terrace or their own open-air bath.
What amenities are in the rooms?
A fridge, kettle, safe, television, CD/DVD player, Simmons bed, humidifier (in winter), fan (in summer), washlet toilet, underfloor heating, hairdryer, toothbrush, face towel, bath towel and yukata.

Are there banquet rooms?
There are no banquet rooms. As the inn values private relaxation, we do not take banquet-style bookings.

What are the qualities of the hot spring?
The water comes from our own source and is used without recirculation: a colourless, clear, gentle beautifying water. It is said to be like lotion, balancing moisturising and cleansing properties, and leaves the skin soft.
Do the private open-air baths need booking, and is there a charge?
The four private open-air baths are all free and need no booking. You may use whichever is free at any time.
Can I bathe without staying overnight?
Day bathing is not accepted. The hot spring is for overnight guests only.

What is the food like?
We serve Kogen Tsumitori Hassai cuisine, a menu changing each month in which vegetables from our own farm and fresh local produce take the lead, with Zao beef and seafood from Yuriage Port in supporting roles, so you can taste seasonal ingredients to the full. Tohoku sake, local wine and local beer are also available.
