How do I get here from the nearest station?
About 5 minutes by taxi from JR Sanin Main Line Kawatana Onsen Station, or about 30 minutes by taxi or rental car from JR Shinkansen Shin-Shimonoseki Station.

Check-in is from 15:00, and check-out is by 11:00. You can enjoy a leisurely stay.

Children aged 12 and above can stay. This is an adults-only retreat designed for guests who value quiet time.

All rooms are designed as individual cottages with their own character. We also offer two-story maisonette-type rooms, with a living area, open-air bath, indoor bath, and toilet on the first floor, and a bed on the second floor.

When was the facility founded?
Our parent ryokan, Shotengoku, was founded 80 years ago. Our facility, Sanroji, opened as a new wing in 2008 (Heisei 20).

Do all rooms have private open-air hot spring baths?
All rooms come with a 24-hour free-flowing spring-fed open-air bath and an indoor bath. You can enjoy a private hot spring at any time you like.
Is there a large public bath?
You can use the large public bath at the main building, Shōtengu Ryokan. In addition to the open-air bath in your room, please enjoy the hot spring at the large public bath.

What kind of cuisine is served?
The chef provides dishes including fugu sashimi (a Shimonoseki specialty), kawara-soba (a Kawatana specialty), and premium A5-ranked Imari beef shabu-shabu. Both dinner and breakfast are served in a private dining room.
When is the winter-limited fugu course available?
We offer a fugu full-course and fugu kaiseki during the winter season for a limited period. Please contact the ryokan directly for the exact dates.
