Can I experience a foot bath or make hot spring eggs?
Yes, you can experience a foot bath and hot spring egg-making free of charge in the garden of our guest lounge. Hot spring eggs made in our source hot spring bath have a subtle salty flavour that is exceptional.

What are the features of the guest rooms?
Our main building is a sukiya-style structure designed and built by Masaya Hirata, a renowned master carpenter of the Showa period. It is a wooden two-story building with traditional character. As a small ryokan with 22 rooms total, you can enjoy a spacious, private atmosphere. We also have special rooms with private open-air baths.

Do you have a sauna or game corner?
We do not have a sauna, spa, or game corner. We are an adults' hot spring inn that emphasizes source hot spring baths and meals and relaxation. We do have a table tennis room, mahjong room, karaoke room, and a shop.

When was it founded? What kind of inn is it?
Founded in 1884 (Meiji 17), the first proprietor opened a hot spring inn for thermal cure treatment the year after Awara Onsen's opening. It is a historic inn that was featured nationally as a hotel/ryokan designed by a star architect from "ELLE" magazine. It is beloved by repeat guests as a refined hot spring inn for adults.

What are the hours for the large bath?
Available from 15:00 to 10:30 the next morning. Please note that bathing is not available from 2:30 to 3:00 AM due to cleaning.
Do you have a private bath?
Yes, we offer a private bath. You can enjoy fresh spring water in our private bath. For details, please confirm with the front desk at check-in.
Is the hot spring water genuine fresh spring water?
Yes, we draw 80-degree high-temperature water from three natural springs on our grounds, adjust it to around 50 degrees through heat exchange, and supply it as fresh spring water without recirculation or additional heating to the large bath, open-air bath, private bath, and foot bath. The water is known for being gentle on the stomach and digestive system, and is also safe for drinking.

What are the features of the cuisine?
We serve kaiseki (multi-course Japanese dinner) made with fresh seafood landed at Mikuni Port and local Echizen vegetables and mountain vegetables. We pay careful attention to serving each dish at the right moment—hot dishes piping hot, cold dishes chilled—with the hospitality of one guest, one dedicated approach.
