How do I get there from the nearest station?
About 75 minutes from Hapi-Line Takefu Station on the Fukutetsu bus Echizen Kaigan line bound for Kareizaki, alighting at the Shirahama stop, then 2 minutes on foot. By car it is about 50 minutes from Sabae IC on the Hokuriku Expressway or about 45 minutes from Tsuruga IC.

Check-in is 15:00 and check-out is 10:00.

Can I book room only or stay alone?
We do not accept room-only bookings or solo travellers. Stays are on plans with dinner and breakfast, for two or more guests.

Can I fish?
We lend fishing rods free of charge and will also cook your catch for you free. Fishing in the sea off Echizen and then tasting the seasonal seafood is a popular part of a stay.

Are there rooms with an open-air bath?
The Royal Room opened in 2023, a premium room with its own sauna, open-air bath and private dining area. A deluxe room with its own barrel sauna and open-air bath was added in 2024.

Can I see the sea from the rooms?
Thirteen of the 15 rooms look out on the Sea of Japan. The Echizen sunset, chosen among Japan's hundred best, can be watched from the room, with the colours changing through the seasons.

What are the qualities of the hot spring?
We use the sources of Echizen Onsen (Kuriya, Nanbu and Tamagawa). The water is a sodium bicarbonate and sulphate spring (hypotonic, weakly alkaline), well regarded as a beauty bath for its silky feel, and said to help with neuralgia, muscle pain, joint pain, fatigue and poor circulation.

What are the bathing facilities?
The bathing halls were renovated in 2023, adding a sauna to the men's bath and an open-air bath to the women's. A deluxe room with its own barrel sauna and open-air bath was also added in 2024.

What is the food like?
We serve dishes making generous use of seasonal seafood, including Echizen crab, abalone, sea urchin and sweet shrimp, a lavish way to taste the bounty of the sea off Echizen Town.

Can I eat Echizen crab all year round?
Yes, Echizen Onsen Heisei offers courses with Echizen crab 365 days a year. Before the fishing season opens we serve other crab dishes in its place.
