What is the spring water quality of Nariko Sightseeing Hotel's hot spring?
Naruko Onsen is a remarkably rare hot spring area in Japan where nine of the eleven types of hot spring that exist in the country are found. Our hotel has our own source spring, 'Genzō no Yu,' which has been maintained since our founding and boasts a history of over 400 years as a beauty spring. It is now also used for medical rehabilitation.
What is the history of Naruko Onsen?
Naruko Onsen is said to have been established approximately 1,200 years ago in the early Heian period and has long been counted as one of the three famous hot springs of Oshu (Naruko, Akiu, and Iizaka onsen). During the Edo period, the Date clan also maintained a guest house here, and today the hot spring is utilized for medical purposes such as rehabilitation.

What are the attractions of each season—spring, summer, autumn, and winter?
Spring offers cherry blossom trees and rapeseed flower fields; summer provides stunning fresh greenery to enjoy while bathing in the hot spring; autumn features spectacular foliage at Naruko Gorge, one of Japan's premier autumn foliage destinations; and winter allows you to relax and enjoy the hot spring surrounded by snow. You can experience Naruko Onsen with its unique beauty in each season.
What tourist attractions are near Naruko Kanko Hotel?
Naruko Gorge, known nationally as a famous autumn foliage spot, is nearby and offers spectacular autumn scenery. In spring, you can enjoy cherry blossom trees along the Yuzawa River in Kawatabi Onsen, and in May, you can see rapeseed flower fields. Also, in April 2026, the Naruko Dam Rainbow Waterfall Lighting Event will be held.
