How long does it take from Tokyo?
About 45 minutes from Tokyo to Mishima Station on the Tokaido Shinkansen, then about 90 minutes in total including the shuttle bus and the boat.
How do I get to the island?
From stand 2 at the north exit of JR Mishima Station, take the shuttle bus (departing 13:30 and 16:00, booking required), about 30-40 minutes, to the mainland waiting salon. From there the boat (no booking needed, free, running every 15 minutes) takes about 5 minutes to the island. By car it is about 40 minutes from Nagaizumi-Numazu IC on the Shin-Tomei Expressway to the jetty.
