What is there to see around Dorogawa Onsen?
There is plenty to enjoy: strolling the hot spring district (magical at night when the lanterns are lit), the Mitarai walking trail (gorge and suspension bridges), Ryusenji temple (a sacred site of Shugendo), the Gorogoro-sui water-drawing point, one of Japan's 100 finest waters, and climbing Mount Omine. The cherry blossoms of Mount Yoshino (in spring) are also about 40 minutes by car.

How many rooms are there and what types?
It is a small inn with just 5 rooms. Rooms on the river side look out over the clear Sanjo River and Ryusenji, a sacred site of Shugendo mountain asceticism. During the autumn leaf season (usually around early November) you can also enjoy vivid autumn colours.

What is the Taisho-era retro atmosphere like?
Yuyado Marubun retains the atmosphere of a Taisho-era building, and its nostalgic Showa and Taisho interiors, such as Kerorin bath stools and the tiled communal bath, are popular. Its evocative setting at the foot of the red bridge in the Dorogawa Onsen district is another attraction.

There are separate communal baths (hot spring) for men and women. The men's bath is beside the river, so you can bathe while taking in the natural surroundings. You can enjoy the waters of Dorogawa Onsen.

What is the food like?
Our specialities are river fish dishes such as sweetfish and trout raised in the clear stream, and meisui tofu made with Gorogoro-sui, one of Japan's 100 finest waters. For sukiyaki and duck hotpot we serve 250 g of meat per adult. There is also a plan with a mizutaki hotpot comparing Yamato chicken and Yamato pork.

How do I get there?
From Shimoichiguchi Station on the Kintetsu Yoshino Line, take the Nara Kotsu bus bound for Dorogawa Onsen to the terminus, then walk about 7 minutes. About 1 hour 30 minutes by car from Kashiwara IC.
