From Ueda Station on the Hokuriku Shinkansen, transfer to the Ueda Railway Bessho Line and ride to the final stop, Bessho Onsen Station, which takes about 30 minutes. From Bessho Onsen Station to our facility is a 5-minute walk.

Check-in is at 15:00 (final check-in at 18:00), and check-out is at 11:00.

Bessho Onsen has three public baths: Aoi no Yu (the main bath), Ishi Yu, and Daishi Yu. Aoi no Yu is a 5-minute walk away, Daishi Yu is an 8-minute walk, and Ishi Yu is a 10-minute walk. We offer public bath admission tickets as a complimentary gift with internet reservations.

All rooms are non-smoking. We have a designated smoking room available on the premises. As the building is made of wood, we appreciate your cooperation throughout the facility.

From Ueda Station on the Hokuriku Shinkansen, take the Ueda Railway Bessho Line for about 30 minutes to Bessho Onsen Station, then walk for 5 minutes. From Tokyo, the shortest journey by shinkansen to Ueda is 1 hour 15 minutes. By car, parking on the grounds is free. From Tokyo approximately 2 hours 40 minutes, from Nagoya approximately 3 hours 20 minutes, from Osaka approximately 5 hours 10 minutes.

We have 32 rooms in total, including premium suites with private open-air baths (4 rooms), main building THE MAIN Western-style rooms (3 rooms), detached rooms with private hot spring baths (5 rooms), and main building Japanese-style rooms (16 rooms). Each room differs in layout and furnishings.

From June 1st, Nagano Prefecture lodging tax applies. We will separately charge 200 yen per person per night as a lodging tax.

Founded in 1917 (Taisho 6). The wooden buildings spanning approximately 1,500 tsubo across 6,500 tsubo of grounds were registered as Tangible Cultural Properties by the Agency for Cultural Affairs in 2006 (Heisei 18). Specialist carpenters are stationed on-site to carefully maintain this historic building.

The premium suites with private open-air baths (Samurai Residence Sakura Goten, rooms 23, 72, and 73) have private open-air baths in the rooms. Detached rooms are equipped with private hot spring baths with continuously flowing spring water. The water is weakly alkaline.

We offer three types of baths: a marble-style bath with a dome ceiling and stained glass, a young grass bath using Izu stone, and an open-air bath surrounded by trees. All are 100% continuously flowing hot spring water.

When booking online, you can add a room alcohol and snack set as an option. We offer beer, sake tasting (3 varieties of Japanese sake), and wine—each with a snack set for 1,650 yen per person (tax included).

We serve authentic kaiseki cuisine featuring seasonal ingredients. You can enjoy the head chef's Japanese cooking. We also offer an A5-grade Shinshu Premium beef steak plan and upgraded premium course options.
