Is there a limit on the number of guests or groups accepted per day?
Normally we limit accommodation to 6 groups per day. We operate with a small number of guests so you can fully enjoy the peace and quiet of the mountain village and the benefits of the hot spring.

When was the inn established?
Our inn is the oldest in Dorogawa Onsen with 500 years of history, now in its seventeenth generation under Yoshiharu Hanatani. It has a long tradition as a lodging for ascetics of the Shugendō Buddhist sect.
When is the climbing season for Mt. Ōmine?
Mt. Ōmine's climbing season (May–September) attracts many ascetics on weekends. Bookings fill up quickly during this period, so early reservations are recommended.

What is the water quality and efficacy of Dorogawa Onsen?
Dorogawa Onsen is a weakly alkaline simple hot spring, with benefits for neuralgia, rheumatism, muscle pain, joint pain, chronic digestive disorders, poor circulation, and fatigue recovery. It is mild on the skin and unlikely to cause irritation.
How many hot spring baths are there?
We offer three types: "Maekki no Yu" (hot spring bath), "Ushiroki no Yu" (semi-open-air hot spring bath with garden view), and "Zekū no Yu" (private hot spring bath by reservation).
Can outside guests use the bath, or is day-trip bathing available?
We do not accept day-trip bathing. We also do not accept school field trips or student group accommodations. This is a lodging facility for overnight guests only.

What kinds of sightseeing are available in the area?
You can enjoy walks through Dorogawa Onsen village, known as a training site for Mount Ōmine and Shugendo mountain asceticism, visit the limestone cave (Gorogoro Cave), tour famous springs, and enjoy scenic views of clear streams. You can also visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Mount Ōmine.

How do I get here?
From Shimojiguchi Station on the Kintetsu Yoshino Line, take the Nara Kotsu bus toward Dorogawa Onsen for approximately 80 minutes, then walk from the Dorogawa Onsen bus stop. By car: approximately 70 minutes from Gose-minami IC via the Minahan Expressway and Kyoto-Nara Expressway.
