Is there a shuttle bus?
Free shuttle service is available from Kamitsuke-Kogen Station (departing 13:00 or 15:00) and arriving at Minakami Station (15:15) (advance reservation required). Return shuttle departs our facility at 9:30 (9:15 in winter) via Minakami Station to Kamitsuke-Kogen Station.

Can I stay with children?
Yes, families with children are welcome. The surrounding area offers a variety of outdoor activities including rafting and canyoning in summer, and access to Mizuho Kogen Ski Resort in winter.

What are the features of the guest rooms?
The facility consists of three buildings—the Main Building, East Building, and First Annex—each with its own distinct atmosphere. All rooms face the Takarakawa River and feature pure Japanese-style design with a calm aesthetic. You can relax on tatami mats. There are 42 rooms in total.

Can I take a day bath here?
Day bathing is available at our day-bath facility "Takarayama Sanso" from 9:00 to 17:00 (reception until 16:00). Rates are 1,500 yen for adults (junior high school and above), 1,000 yen for primary school children, and free for preschool children.

Are there any mixed-gender outdoor baths?
There are 3 large mixed-gender outdoor baths and a women-only outdoor bath called "Maya no Yu". In the mixed-gender baths, bathers wear special bath wraps (available for rental at a charge).
What are the features of the outdoor baths?
There are 4 outdoor baths along the Takarayama River with a combined area of approximately 470 tatami mats. The largest, "Kodakara no Yu", is about 200 tatami mats and was a filming location for the movie "Thermae Romae II". All are fed by natural hot spring water, with a mineral composition of simple hot spring water (weakly alkaline). There are 4 source springs with a daily flow of 1,800 litres per minute.
Are there washing stations at the outdoor bath?
No washing stations are provided near the outdoor bath. Please use the indoor bath (large communal bath) for washing your hair and body. Separate indoor baths are provided for day-trip guests and overnight guests.

What kind of meals are served?
Taking advantage of our setting surrounded by mountains on all sides, we serve cuisine featuring seasonal mountain ingredients such as mushrooms and river fish. Our meals are characterised by wholesome mountain cuisine that showcases nature's bounty.

Is there a parking lot?
We provide free parking. Tyre chains are required in winter. Four-wheel-drive vehicles are fine with snow tyres, but two-wheel-drive vehicles may require chains even with snow tyres.

How do I get here?
Complimentary shuttle bus available from Joetsu Shinkansen Kamitsuke-Kogen Station or Joetsu Line Minakami Station (advance reservation required). From Minakami Station, take the bus to Takarayama Onsen (approximately 35 minutes), get off at the final stop, then 0 minutes on foot. By car, approximately 30 minutes from Minakami IC on the Kan-Etsu Expressway.
