From JR Nagano Station (Zenkoji exit) take the Nagano Electric Railway to Yudanaka Station (approximately 50 minutes). Change to a Chuden Bus (heading to Shiga Kogen/Snow Monkey area, approximately 10 minutes) and get off at Shibu Wagōbashi bus stop. It's about a 3-minute walk from there.

Standard check-in is 15:00 and check-out is 10:00. You can use the bath throughout the night from check-in to check-out. Times may vary depending on your plan, so please check the details of your reservation.

Please contact the ryokan directly regarding pet accommodation. We do not have a pet bath or dog run.

During green season, the park is accessible by car from Shibu Onsen to the Jigokudani parking area. In winter (roughly December to March), the road between Shibu Onsen and the parking area is closed, so you'll need to park at the free parking area in Kabayu Onsen and walk approximately 30 minutes. Please watch your footing carefully.

National Route 292 between Shiga Kogen and Kusatsu is closed from mid-November to late April. Road work may also cause traffic restrictions during certain periods. Winter travel requires snow tyres or chains, so please prepare accordingly.

The guest room wing is four storeys, but movement between rooms is generally via stairs. There is an elevator to assist guests moving to the dining area, but the facility is not fully barrier-free, so please be aware.

The "Saigetsuro" and "Daihirōma" (large hall) – both wooden four-storey sukiya-style structures – are registered as Tangible Cultural Properties by the Agency for Cultural Affairs. Built by master craftsmen in the early Showa period, all 29 guest rooms have different floor plans and decorative details.

All 5 private baths can be used without reservation and at no charge. If one is available, lock it from inside and use it. They are available 24 hours from check-in to check-out.

There are 8 bathing facilities: 5 private baths and 3 large baths (including an open-air bath). The private baths require no reservation, are free, and available 24 hours. There are 4 private hot springs with 3 different water qualities: weakly alkaline, neutral, and weakly acidic.

Guests staying at Shibu Onsen can use all nine public baths in the hot spring town. Enjoy strolling through the stone-paved onsen district in yukata and wooden sandals while visiting different baths.

Meals centre on kaiseki cuisine using seasonal ingredients from Shinshu. For stays of two nights or more, the menu from the second night onwards, including the main dish, will be at the ryokan's discretion. Please inform us of any allergies or ingredients you dislike at the time of booking.

There are 20 parking spaces. However, during the stone-paved street construction in Shibu Onsen (scheduled June 29 – early December 2026), there will be traffic restrictions. Vehicles wider than 2.3m or taller than 2.5m cannot enter the hot spring town, so please contact the inn in advance.
