What is the route by train from Tokyo and Sendai?
From Tokyo: JR Yamabiko Shinkansen to Yamagata Station (approx. 2 hours 30 minutes), then bus to Zao Onsen Bus Terminal (approx. 40 minutes) — total approx. 3 hours 10 minutes. From Sendai: JR Senzan Line to Yamagata Station (approx. 1 hour), then bus (approx. 40 minutes) — total approx. 1 hour 40 minutes.

When do cancellation charges apply?
Cancellation fees are 30% of the accommodation charge from 3 days prior, 50% the day before, and 100% on the day of arrival or for no-shows without notice. Some plans such as New Year packages may have different policies, so please check the plan description.

We have a ski drying room where you can store ski and snowboard equipment. There is also a winter-season changing room next to the front desk that you can use before check-in, so you can change out of your outfits upon arrival.

We offer 5 room types with a total of 41 rooms: Japanese-modern twin (36 m²; non-smoking), 10-mat Japanese room (smoking and non-smoking), and 8-mat Japanese-Western room with twin beds (smoking and non-smoking). If you prefer a non-smoking room, please mention this at the time of booking.

Directly across the road from Zao Onsen Bus Terminal. About 40 minutes by bus from JR Yamagata Station. About 3 hours 10 minutes from Tokyo using the JR Yamagata Shinkansen. About 20 minutes from Yamagata-Kaminoyama IC via Prefectural Road 21. About 1 hour by bus from Yamagata Airport. About 1 hour 45 minutes by direct limousine bus from Sendai Airport (winter season limited).

What types of baths are available? Do you have private rental baths?
We have separate large baths and outdoor baths for men and women, plus 4 types of private rental baths (located in Yuraku-dori): Megumi no Yu, Doukutsu no Yu, Hokuto no Negi Yu, and Ki no Ka no Yu. All use 100% source water with continuous flow. Some popular plans include one free use of a private bath.
What is the spring quality and what conditions does it help with?
Acidic iron-sulfur-aluminum-sulfate chloride hot spring with a pH of 1.5 at the source (the 2nd strongest acidity in Japan). It is said to be beneficial for cuts, burns, chronic skin conditions, chronic gynecological disorders, high blood pressure, and more. We supply 100% natural source water with continuous flow from our own on-site spring.

What are the meal options and dining venues?
Meals feature Yamagata regional cuisine with options including sukiyaki, shabu-shabu, and steak sets using the local brand beef 'Zao beef'. Both breakfast and dinner are served in private dining rooms or in your guest room, on chair and table seating.

We offer a free parking lot with 13 indoor spaces and 27 outdoor spaces. Motorcycle guests can use the indoor motorcycle parking. Note: In winter, please use nearby free or paid parking lots before check-in and after check-out.
