How do I get here from Ochanomizu Station?
It is approximately a 3-minute walk from the Kiyobashi exit of JR Chuo/Sobu Line Ochanomizu Station. It is also about a 1-minute walk from Tokyo Metro Chiyoda Line Shin-Ochanomizu Station (B3a exit), Marunouchi Line Awaji-cho Station, and Toei Shinjuku Line Ogawa-cho Station.

What is the history of the ryokan?
It was founded in 1899 (Meiji 32) as a branch of the former Nakuraya Ryokan under the name "Ryokan Ryumeikan Honten". After being destroyed in the Great Kanto Earthquake, it was rebuilt and became beloved by many writers and artists as an established inn. It was renovated and reopened as the current "Hotel Ryumeikan Ochanomizu Honten" in August 2014.

What are the nearby sightseeing spots?
The ryokan is conveniently located for accessing tourist areas including Marunouchi, Akihabara, Asakusa, and Ginza. The Kanda and Jimbocho area nearby features many antique bookstores and long-established cafés, making it enjoyable for street walks. Four train stations (JR and Tokyo Metro lines) are within a 3-minute walk.

What are the room features and how many rooms are there?
This is a small luxury hotel with 9 rooms total. Each room is spaciously designed at approximately 52–62 m², and all rooms are equipped with Shigaraki ceramic bathtubs. The large ceramic baths are rare for a Tokyo ryokan, with bathtubs approximately 110 cm in diameter where you can soak comfortably.

What meals are provided and where are they served?
RESTAURANT 1899 OCHANOMIZU on the 1st floor serves cuisine themed around "tea" and "Japanese food". For hotel guests, we also provide a special Japanese breakfast room service. The restaurant operates for regular service during lunch and dinner as well.
